The announcement of the latest Droid Turbo 2 does hint that Motorola is keen on continuing the good job that it has done in the last five years.

Even though it has gone under the wing of Lenovo, Motorola has kept up its pace of development.

Display

The bullet-proof nature of the device is retained without fail, and it continues to remain as the main talking point. Motorola claims to have made a solid device, but it is far from being so. However, it can certainly withstand most of the day-to-day abrasions that may hurt the device. There are some significant changes in key areas like the display where a P-OLED capacitive touchscreen is used. It measures 5.4 inches in size, and it employs a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. A pixel density of more than 540 PPI means that the Droid Turbo 2 has one of the crispy screens in the business today.

Processor

Even though Motorola has gone to Lenovo, it has not fiddled with its main core of Android operating system without any great skins. As a result, the Droid Turbo 2 is one of the first phones to receive the marshmallow 6.0 update apart from the Nexus family of smartphones. The Droid Turbo 2 is extremely well equippedto run this operating system. The processor is the Snapdragon 810 range that can provide excellent clock speeds from its eight cores.

Memory

Internal memory is flexible on the Droid Turbo 2 due to the 32 GB and 64 GB options available to the buyer. Even if these prove to be insufficient, one can always depend on the expandable memory card slots. These can accept up to 200 GB of content using the latest generation microSD cards. The phone has adecent amount of RAM – 3 GB – to go along with the powerful processor.

Camera

A21-megapixel rear camera is of the finest order, and this is true regarding features provided within this shooter. Aspects like dual LED flash, auto HDR and phase detection autofocus are standard on the phone. New age features like 4K video recording are also present. A slight disappointment may be the lack of slow motion video recording ability on the camera. The base 32 GB variant will cost around $620 while the phone with slightly better 64 GB of internal storage is priced at around $720.
